Located in front of Kawayu Onsen in Hongu, Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, this pension style inn offers a perfect spot to experience the warmth of Kumano. As the name suggests, Kawayu Onsen is famous for its natural hot springs that emerge from the riverbed of the Oto River. Whether you are walking the Kumano Kodo during the pleasant spring or autumn seasons, enjoying the river activities and hot springs in summer, or soaking in the massive outdoor “Sennin buro” hot spring in winter, this location offers year-round charm. Our inn is situated in an outstanding location right next to the Oto River.
This inn is operated by a forestry business owner who takes pride in using wood from trees carefully cultivated by generations of ancestors. The building features materials sourced personally by the owner, with pillars, wall panels, and corridors made of cypress, and beams crafted from cedar. Sakura, paulownia, and pine are also used, while no foreign wood or steel is employed. Enjoy a relaxing and tranquil stay in a room filled with the warmth of wood.
Additionally, the owner is an expert in mountain hiking, so guests planning to walk the Kumano Kodo are welcome to consult with him for route guidance and tips.
※Please note that dinner features meat dishes, such as the inn’s signature Wagyu beef hamburgers, as the main course. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate special dietary restrictions for dinner.

From JR Shingu Station: Take the Kumano Gobo Nankai Bus or Nara Kotsu Bus for approximately 60 minutes, alight at Fujiyama Mae Bus Stop, just a short walk away.
From JR Kii-Tanabe Station: Take the Ryujin Bus for approximately 100 minutes, alight at Kameya Mae Bus Stop, just a short walk away.
From Hongu: Take the Kumano Gobo Nankai Bus or Nara Kotsu Bus for approximately 20 minutes, then take the Ryujin Bus for about 10 minutes, alight at Fujiyama Mae Bus Stop, just a short walk away. ※Please note that some Kumano Gobo Nankai Buses do not stop at Kameya Mae or Fujiyama Mae Bus Stops. Please check in advance.

From Shingu City, take National Route 168, about 45 minutes.
